Single-chain and back-of-bucket double-chain elevator chain with attachments

“Super Capacity” elevator chain with attachment on side. Chains are “matched and paired” with left- and right-side attachments. Head shafts are “keyed-in-line” to insure alignment.

Typical installation of buckets on back-of-bucket single chain. Not all applications have buckets spaced every-other pitch as shown. Note the small mounting face of the chain in relation to the back of buckets.
In general, length of bucket is limited to 5 times the chain width.
Plastic buckets should be mounted with a backing plate and large flat washers to provide wider surfaces to minimize stress at the edge of chain attachments.

Use of Traction Head Wheel
A traction wheel at the head of centrifugal elevator will increase chain and wheel life. In addition, the traction wheel will minimize peak chain tensions under impact or starting conditions.
Factors which can detract from effectiveness of traction wheel:
1. Handling material with lubricating qualities
2. Heavy digging loads
3. Handling very dense material
Dry and abrasive materials increase coefficient of friction, which is beneficial.
Traction wheels are not for use with roller chains.
